Requesting Materials During Library Renovations (Summer 2026)

Library books, DVDs, CDs, and other materials are still available during our renovations. However, they must be requested in advance so that Library staff can retrieve them for you.

Library Catalogue

From the library catalogue, use the "Place Hold" link in the search results or on the item's record.

The "Place Hold" link appears in search results and on individual records, both on the right-hand side

You will need to log in to the catalogue to place a hold. Use your UPEI username and password. If you do not have a UPEI login, use your library card number and PIN. If you don't have that information, you can call 902-566-0583 or email reference@upei.ca for assistance.

Be sure to choose "Submit" to place your hold. If you are placing holds for later in the summer, you can use the "Suspend this hold?" option to tell library staff when you would like to pick up the item.

OneSearch

From OneSearch, use the "Place Hold if Checked Out" link in the Access Options menu. This will take you to the same login screen in the catalogue described above.

In a OneSearch book record, the "Access options" dropdown menu is open and "Place Hold If Checked Out" is selected
